Ruby Rush
This was the cake made for my aunt and uncles Ruby Wedding. It is a fruit cake in a lozenge shape. The design is halved, one side being ruby red and one side white. The red side is sprinkled with glitter dust, giving it a lovely sparkle and depth. The white side is decorated with handmade flowers in a ruby colour, then piped with tiny dots on an angle forming a diamond pattern between each flower (see photograph below). This is then sprinkled with a disco glitter dust. Trimmed with a gold and ruby cord across the adjoining halves and round the bottom. The top is decorated with a petal paste lily decorated with a burgundy lustre dust. Green foliage and white blossoms, finished off with diamanté burgundy feathers and a crystal 40. The ruby half has diamanté initials stood at an angle.
